Choosing a martial arts class is easier when you make two decisions in order: first the student’s age, then the type of training that sounds most motivating.
Ages 4–6: Little Ninjas
Little Ninjas is the age-appropriate starting point for younger children. The programme combines gross motor skills with listening, personal development and character-building in a martial arts setting.
Ages 7–12: traditional martial arts or kickboxing
Children in this age group have two routes at SKMA. Junior Martial Arts places more emphasis on traditional martial arts and practical self-defence. Junior Kickboxing develops striking skills, fitness, teamwork and discipline.
The best choice is usually the one your child is excited to attend consistently. A free week lets them experience the atmosphere before you make a longer commitment.
Adults: choose the training environment and style
Adult Martial Arts covers traditional karate, weapons and related systems. Adult Kickboxing offers a dynamic striking and fitness route for different experience levels. Ladies-Only Kickboxing provides a dedicated women-only environment.
The simplest next step
Choose the closest match on the free-week form. SKMA can then share the relevant session options at the Totton academy.
